Fingers hurt after typing a lot?
I am a software developer and I have to type a lot for my job. I use my laptop keyboard mostly and then sometimes desktop keyboard as well. After I start typing my fingers start hurting. It’s like slow pain that goes up to my wrists. It’s not a hindrance right now but it’s a definitely annoying.
I try to exercise my fingers and wrists when I can. I am hoping this is not carpal tunnel syndrome.
Any idea what I can do to fix this or what to do next?
Try to take 20 second breaks between sessions or even every 30 minutes.
Extend both arms out in front of you and make fists. Bend your wrists/hands downward as far as you can for 5 seconds, and stretch it up as high/back as you can.
Open fists and spread fingers out as far as you can (keep stretching them the whole time) do the same as above: while seperated fingers, bend your wrist as far down as you can for 5 seconds, and again upwards.
This helps stretch the tendons. Helps me when I play video games or type for long periods of time.
